ESVA 1.6.4 - What's New?

With the unexpected success that was ESVA 1.5.1 I have made some requested and much needed changes...

Mailgraph allows you to view postfix usage stats graphically.

MailWatch provides the long awaited ability to manage quarantine, user/domain/global black/white lists etc.

Self-Service release of quarantined spam by users via a quick and easy to use URL in the quarantined spam notification email sent to users. This will help reduce administrative overhead, but can easily be disabled if required.

Razor, Pyzor, DCC are essential tools in the fight against spam, further enhancing accuracy.

Multi-domain Support. This works "out of the box" - no problem for single domain support either.

Less dependence on DNS for mail delivery for smaller sites and those looking to avoid mail-loops or tricky DNS configurations.

Better documentation - and getting better all the time as more documents are added to the how-to library.

Updated versions of key software including Sendmail and MailScanner.

IMPORTANT!!!

There was a bug in version 1.6.4.5 which was online between Sunday 29th October and Tuesday 31st October. The bug is purely functional and caused no security risk whatsover. The details of the bug are:

Permissions on /var/spool/postfix/postgrey were incorrect

Unless postgrey was disabled in /etc/postfix/main.cf, no mail would pass (messages rejected)
A new build has been uploaded (1.6.4.6) and was available from approx 04:00GMT on Wednesday 1st November 2006.
If you have put any time into configuring ESVA 1.6.4.5 and want to migrate your settings to ESVA 1.6.4.6, the procedure is documented here
