About
About this site
The name
Global Domination is a concept that was coined in the summer
of 1999 when I was working at PSInet
in London's
Docklands (with the likes of Jeremy
Hansford and Paul
Thornton...among others.)
at what was the height of the dot-com 'golden age' (ahhh - those were
the days...).
Back then, the world was a much simpler place. Technology companies
ruled supreme and were the darlings of
the worlds stock markets & Venture Capitalists, and we were
working for one of the biggest managed hosting
companies in the world, building out 100,000 sq. ft datacentres as fast
as we could... The big money was sure to come!
That bubble burst, the once mighty PSInet went Chapter 11 and was broken up, with chunks going to Telstra (UK), Interoute (Europe) and Cogent (North America) and all the talent disappearing to the four corners of the earth.
Purpose
Alas, Global Domination has been postponed, until I can at
least get this site looking half decent (it's been a work in progress since 2002...) and has some useful content
on it. Until then, the site is dedicated to shameless self-promotion - and to the ESVA mail gateway.
What you won't find here is anything to do with other forms of domination involving scary women, whips, leather
etc.
About me
I was born in New Zealand in the early '70s
and currently live in Dubai, UAE with my long suffering family and a menagerie of pets.
Until now, I have lived (mostly) in Christchurch (NZ), Hong Kong and South East England.
I currently work for Citrix in the Middle East & Africa, which keeps me pretty busy (and my SkyWards, HHonors & Priority Club accounts topped up).
You can find a (usually old) copy of my CV here
